The WA20-5925 is a single-chip full digital audio amplifier enabling DTS Virtual:X™ sound technology for stereo speakers. DTS Virtual:X™ technology delivers an enhanced sound immersion with as few as two speakers. By integrating DTS Virtual:X™ technology into a full digital audio amplifier, the WA20-5925 makes it easier and cost effective to implement a stereo audio system with virtual 3D surround. DTS Virtual:X™ sound technology allows consumers to enjoy multi-dimensional audio without the need for a traditional surround sound setup. Thanks to virtual surround processing, DTS Virtual:X™ delivers exceptional acoustic performance. The WA20-5925 supports stereo, 5.1-channel, and 7.1-channel inputs. The WA20-5925 contains two bridge-tied power stages, and it is capable of delivering 2x20W into loudspeakers. The device is protected from over current and over temperature conditions. The WA20-5925 provides advanced audio processing functions including synchronous sample rate converter, audio mixing, 48 Bi-Quad filters, volume control, 3-band Acc DRC, pre/post scaler, and post PEQ. A maximum of eight devices can share a same bus for I²S for serialized audio inputs through TDM and a bus for I²C for the register control as well. Additionally, four separate I²S data lines are available for supporting up to 7.1 channels while sharing BCK and WCK in slave mode. The device offers a small form factor and is available in a 7x7mm2 48-pin QFN package for a compact PCB footprint.
